Modern hotel and good service. Family atmosphere and family room with a wonderful soft squishy bed. Large breakfast in the restaurant to start the day. Free parking onsite provided. Everything beautiful. Location not far from the temples and the riverside. Also, in the mountains of Yamagata...

We had a great experience at Kansyokan! the room, although slightly outdated, was well-maintained and had a wonderful view of the river. the staff were kind and helpful, explaining everything clearly. the highlight was definitely the bath, especially the rotenburo. We also enjoyed the delicious breakfast, which had a variety of options.

Don't have any issues at all. 👍

This place is located by the beautiful hills in the mountains of Yamagata, providing a stunning view. The service here is top-notch, from the friendly and helpful staff to the room service that was always prompt and efficient. The amenities in the room such as heating, air conditioning, and a flat-screen TV made my stay even more comfortable. Additionally, the dining bar/lounge area offered delicious special diet menus, satisfying all my culinary desires.

I highly recommend this hotel to families looking for a great stay.

The staff at this hotel were amazing, always smiling and willing to help. the food was delicious and we even got complementary snacks and drinks in our room. the location near the train station made it easy to get around. We enjoyed the beautiful view from our room, especially during sunrise.

The hotel is old and some areas show signs of wear. Our room had a bit of mould and some stains on the walls and mats.

The view from the room and the massage chair were definitely the best aspects of our stay in this hotel during Christmas time. The snow-covered landscape and the peacefulness of the location definitely added charm to our experience. , the staff was very kind and offered a free ride to the train station and a nearby store for last-minute purchases.

Sadly, the dining experience was not what we expected. The breakfast was limited and not to our liking.

Nestled away from the bustling city, this hotel is a serene haven near ancient temples with gorgeous surroundings. the friendly staff greets you with a warm welcome and useful recommendations about the area. Rooms, though dated, are still cozy and clean with a wonderful view in winter. You will especially love the communal onsen with an indoor and outdoor option providing a sense of relaxation. the inclusive dinner is a fascinating gastronomy experience, beautifully prepared with locally sourced produce and flavors. Breakfast enthralls with its flavors and variety, enough to satisfy any appetite.

Although the hotel is well-kept, the carpeting in some areas could use an upgrade.

This hotel was a great find! We loved the traditional Japanese decor and the comfortable amenities provided, such as cozy Yukata robes and a relaxing onsen. The breakfast was also delicious, featuring local ingredients. The staff was friendly and accommodating, making sure we had a pleasant and restful stay. Despite being located away from busy cities, transportation was easy and parking was convenient. it was a clean and peaceful hotel, perfect for a relaxing getaway.

Nothing is perfect, but there were no major drawbacks.
